Swedish is spoken primarily in Sweden, but also in Finland, where almost 300,000 people have Swedish as their first language. Swedish is also spoken, as a first language or as a heritage language, by a few speakers in the USA and Estonia. In Sweden and around the world, people also study Swedish.

Sveamål: Uppland, Dalarna, Gästrikland, southern Hälsingland, Södermanland, Västmanland, Närke, Östergötland except in the southwest, Öland, northeastern Småland
Gotland destinations: Gotland and Fårö
Norrland destinations: from northern Hälsingland and north in Härjedalen, Medelpad, Jämtland, Ångermanland, Västerbotten, Norrbotten and Lapland
